Cost and accounts

Is Noggli really free?

Yes. Everything in Noggli today is free for families, with no card, no trial and no ads on the child's screen.

Paid Pro and Live plans are coming for families who want more, such as higher AI limits and a voice tutor. Free keeps everything it has today. See the pricing page.

Does my child need an account?

No. Only parents sign in, with an email link instead of a password. You add your child's first name and school year, then pair their tablet or phone by scanning a QR code from your family page.

A paired device opens straight into that child's game and cannot reach your family page. On it, grown-ups get in with a 4-digit PIN or an email link.

Can I add more than one child?

Yes, up to six. Each child has their own levels, their own shelf of squishies and their own report.

Who is it for?

Children in Years 1 to 6 in England, roughly ages 5 to 11. Most of the questions sit in Years 2 to 6.

It was first built for a Year 6 child who had started to dread maths tests, so it is especially gentle with children who worry about getting things wrong.

Learning

How does it work out my child's level?

You tell us the year they are in at school. In the first few sittings Noggli tries the core topics a couple of times each, starting a year below that, and moves up or down depending on how they go.

Each topic gets its own level, so a child can be working at Year 5 in addition and Year 3 in fractions at the same time. Your report then explains where each topic started and why. You never have to adjust it.

What does it cover?

Seventeen maths topics, from addition and times tables to fractions, percentages, negative numbers and ratio. Nine English topics, including spelling, punctuation, word classes, tenses and vocabulary, plus reading comprehension and sentence writing.

Every level is tagged to the National Curriculum for England objective it practises.

What happens when my child gets one wrong?

First a clue and another go. If it is still not right, the working is shown step by step, with no red crosses and no score. The next question on that idea is easier.

Topics that were shaky come back a day later, then three days, then a week, so they stick.

How long should a sitting be?

Short. The game winds itself down after about 18 minutes and asks how it felt. A little on most days does more than one long session.

Will it help with tests like the Year 6 SATs?

It practises the same curriculum, so it should help with confidence and fluency. Once several topics are secure it offers an optional "mini mix": eight questions laid out like a paper, with no clock and no marks, to make that format feel ordinary.

It is practice at home, not a formal assessment, and it does not predict test results.

Does it replace school or a tutor?

No. It is a practice game. It can show you which topics need attention, and you can share a read-only report with a teacher or tutor if that is useful.

We are in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. Can we use it?

You can, and the maths and English are the same. The year labels and curriculum tags follow the National Curriculum for England for now, so a P6 child in Scotland would pick Year 5.

The AI helper

What does the AI actually do?

Maths questions, and most English ones, are written and marked by ordinary code, not by AI, so the marking is exact.

AI is used for the friendly parts: the helper your child can ask for a nudge, a plain-English explanation after a miss, short reading passages, feedback on written answers, and the notes you read as a parent.

Will the helper just give my child the answer?

No. It is told never to, and the app also removes the answer from its replies as a second check. It asks one small question at a time to help your child get there.

The helper opens by telling your child it is a computer helper, not a person.

Can I see what my child types to the helper?

Yes. Every message either way is on your child's page. The helper only talks about the question on screen, and anything off-topic or personal is steered away and flagged for you.

Are there limits on the AI?

Yes. Each child has a daily cap on helper messages, explanations, reading passages and marked answers. When a cap is reached the game carries on with code-marked questions.

Privacy and safety

What do you store about my child?

A first name and a school year, their answers, their levels, the squishies they collect, anything they type to the helper, and the optional face they tap at the end of a sitting.

No surname, birthday, school, photo, location or child email. The read-aloud voice is your device's own and nothing is recorded.

Can I delete everything?

Yes, at any time, from your family page. Deleting a child removes every answer, squishy, note and chat straight away. You can delete your whole account the same way.

Are there adverts or tracking?

There are no ads on the child's screen and no advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies keep you signed in and keep a paired device paired.

Who else can see my child's progress?

Nobody, unless you make a read-only link for a teacher. That link shows the skill tables and mix-ups only, never the chats, and you can switch it off.

Devices

What does it run on?

Any modern browser, on a tablet, a phone or a laptop. That includes Samsung Galaxy tablets, Android phones, iPads and iPhones.

There is nothing to install from an app store. You pair your child's device with a QR code, then add Noggli to the home screen so it opens like an app.

Does it need wifi the whole time?

It needs a connection to start. If the wifi drops during a sitting, the code-marked questions keep working and the answers sync when it is back. The AI helper needs a connection.

Can it read questions aloud?

Yes. Every question has a read-aloud button that uses the device's own voice. Sounds can be switched off at the top of the game.
