About Noggli

A small, free practice game for primary children, made by a parent who needed one.

Why it exists

Noggli started at home. A Year 6 child had begun to dread maths tests. They knew they found maths hard, and tests had become something to worry about. Timers, streaks and scores were the last thing they needed.

So a parent who writes software for a living built something gentler: no clock, no marks out of ten, a clue before an answer, and questions that begin wherever the child really is, not where their year group says they should be.

It was built for one child first. English followed maths, and Noggli is now a free tool for any family who wants it.

What we believe

  • Confidence comes first. A child who expects to fail stops trying. Most questions should be ones they can get.
  • Parents deserve plain answers. Where is my child, and why do you think that? Noggli tells you both.
  • Children's data should be tiny. A first name and a year group. No child accounts, no ads on their screen.
  • AI should help, not judge. Code marks the answers. AI writes the friendly explanations, and you can read everything it says to your child.

Who makes it

Noggli is built and run in the UK by Chris Thrower, an independent developer and parent. It is not connected to any school, publisher or exam board.
